While cyber threats have evolved with breakneck speed, cybersecurity best practices have largely remained the same. The fact that such attacks are landing, however, may not speak to the ineffectiveness of these practices, but instead the reality that best practices are oftentimes not being properly followed.

But heeding common cybersecurity hygiene isn’t always simple or clear cut, especially in today’s remote environment. During the “Employee Cybersecurity Training” panel at the Association of Corporate Counsel Foundation’s Virtual Cybersecurity Summit, legal and cyber professionals discussed the nuances one should consider when looking to abide by the best cybersecurity advice out there today. Suffice to say, it’s not just a “check the box” exercise.
