A recent survey shows that almost a third of security pros said they would negotiate with cybercriminals to recover stolen or encrypted data.

The ThreatTrack survey said that 70 percent of security pros will not negotiate, but 30 percent would negotiate. The percent goes up to 55 percent when asking those organizations that have been victimized by cyber-extortionists before, the survey adds.
