According to the judging panel, Wafa Derouiche “exhibits true leadership and initiative”. She is regional and compliance counsel for the Middle East and Africa at engineering giant Pentair. And although she is sole legal counsel for the region, she has been making a big impression, having recently been asked to join Pentair’s Middle East leadership team, a role that is usually reserved for general counsel.

Derouiche has nine years of legal experience under her belt. She is admitted to the Tunisian Bar and her qualifications include a dual masters degree in the US and Tunisia and an international diploma in compliance from Manchester Business School. She has enjoyed stints in both private practice and in-house in several jurisdictions, including the US, the UK, Singapore and France. This has given her experience working in both common law and civil law jurisdictions.
