It is common knowledge that many lawyers are joined by the hip to their BlackBerrys - or, as the addictive gadgets are often hilariously referred to, CrackBerrys. Almost all Legal Week readers will know of a twitchy colleague who compulsively checks their emails day and night, enslaved by the call of that little flashing red light. In fact, The Diary was recently lucky enough to attend a karaoke evening with a number of lawyers, only to note a less-than-enthuastic chanteuse take a mid-song break to catch up on their e-correspondence.News has also recently reached The Diary that one particularly diligent lawyer loved his BlackBerry so much that he sent a number of emails to the creators of said device, Research In Motion, complaining about the things that went wrong with his little piece of crack and suggesting how it could be improved. In fact, The Diary understands that he was so successful at getting his point across, that the CEO of BlackBerry paid him a special visit when he was in London to personally thank him for all of his whingeing. Now that's client relationship management for you.
