“I am a junior construction solicitor currently working a four-day week for a national firm. I have been with my firm for three years, where my part-time hours have worked very well. I am looking to move to London and would like to find a position where I can continue to work for four days a week. I have not seen part-time legal roles advertised, either in-house or in private practice, which is discouraging. Is it possible to move jobs on this basis, or am I being unrealistic? Are part-time roles only open to parents with young children? Does anyone have any ideas as to how to approach the issue with recruitment consultants or the firms/companies themselves?”
