General Electric (GE) veteran Elizabeth Lee has joined Lehman Brothers in the newly-created role of managing director and general counsel for Europe, becoming one of the top female lawyers in finance.

The appointment will make Lee arguably the most senior female lawyer in Europe at a major investment bank, coming after the recent departure of Goldman Sachs’ highly-respected international head of legal, Terry Miller, who took on the general counsel role for the main Olympic body organising London 2012.
