Barclays’ high profile departing legal chief, Howard Trust, is joining Schroders as its new general counsel and secretary to the management board, replacing the retiring head of legal Francis Neate.

Trust will join the asset management group next week, taking the role of overall legal head for the 14-lawyer in-house team. He will sit on its group management board responsible for day-to-day issues, reporting to chief finance officer Jonathan Asquith.
