Two out of three US legal departments undertake pro bono work, handling an average of 25 pro bono cases annually, according to a survey carried out by CorporateProBono.org (CPBO).
The survey of Fortune 500 companies revealed that 90% of those who undertake pro bono say they enjoy the active support of their chief legal officer, with 83% of lawyers getting permission to do pro bono work on company time.
