Lawrence Graham acted for Scottish & Newcastle in its joint venture with malt manufacturer Hugh Baird & Sons, to pool both companies’ UK malting interests. Paul Walker led the team. Slaughter and May’s corporate partner Anthony Newhouse represented Hugh Baird.

Dibb Lupton Alsop acted for Seven Seas Resort, a 50% owner in a new company set up by a joint venture between US-based RCI, a holiday exchange organisation, and International Investment Projects Co, part of the Kuwait International Investments Co. RCI Europe will own the other 50%. Corporate partner Peter Barton led the team. RCI Europe was represented by its in-house lawyer Martin Briggs.
