The American Civil Liberties Union expected to file suit against Pennsylvania today in the Commonwealth Court, bringing claims that the new voter ID law violates the state constitution, according to the organization.

Witold “Vic” Walczak, legal director of the ACLU of Pennsylvania, said 10 persons who will be disenfranchised by the law — which requires every voter to present a valid identification card in order to vote this November — are the plaintiffs in the suit. He declined to discuss the organization’s argument until after a press conference scheduled for this afternoon.
