SAN FRANCISCO — Greenberg Traurig has expanded its patent litigation practice in the Bay Area. Vernon Winters and Nicholas Brown have left Weil, Gotshal & Manges’ Silicon Valley office to join the firm’s San Francisco office as partners.

“Vern is known for being charismatic and persuasive in the courtroom, for being incredibly focused and responsive, and for having exceptional knowledge of the law,” said Alan Sutin, chair of Greenberg’s IP and technology practice group. “Nick is an up-and-comer and truly enjoys complex cases, which is evident in the recognition of his work.”
