Australian firm Thomson Geer has hired longtime HWL Ebsworth Lawyers corporate partner Matthew Reynolds in Brisbane, Australia.
Reynolds leaves HWL Ebsworth Lawyers after 13 years with the firm. He previously practiced at Australian firm McCullough Robertson and legacy firms DLA Phillips Fox and Freehills.
Reynolds’ practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, private equity and corporate advisory. In 2015, he represented Australian coal and oil technology company Ignite Energy Resources in a $22 million investment in Indonesian state-owned coal miner PT Bukit Asam.
Thomson Geer was formed from a merger between midsize Australian firms Thomsons Lawyers and Herbert Geer in 2014. It has about 100 partners across its offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.
