Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom is advising longtime client Chinese online travel agency Ctrip.com International Ltd. on a $1.7 billion acquisition of British airfare search engine Skyscanner Ltd.

Ctrip will acquire a 100 percent interest in Edinburgh-based Skyscanner, which has 60 million monthly active users and is available in over 30 languages. According to James Liang, Ctrip’s cofounder and executive chair, Skyscanner will complement Ctrip’s positioning at a global scale.
