Former Linklaters Hong Kong partner Samantha Thompson has left to join Big Four auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers as a director in London. She is the fifth partner to leave the Magic Circle firm’s Hong Kong office this year.

Thompson now serves as the secretary of PwC’s executive board. During her time in private practice, she specialized in finance and mergers and acquisitions in the telecommunications, media and technology sector. She had advised General Electric, China Netcom, Lone Star and HTC on public and private takeovers in Hong Kong during her tenure in the city. She had relocated back to London earlier this year.
