Kirkland & Ellis has hired Linklaters debt finance partner David Irvine in Hong Kong.

Irvine specializes in the financing aspects of leveraged buyouts and other lending transactions for projects and restructurings. Last year, he advised a group of banks including Goldman Sachs Group Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and BNP Paribas S.A. on a $1.3 billion loan used to fund the $3 billion buyout of Chinese game developer Giant Interactive Group Inc. by a consortium led by Baring Private Equity, CDH Private Equity and Hony Capital.
