Melbourne-based firm Lander & Rogers has hired a former Australian government minister to serve as an adviser to its Japan practice.

Andrew Thomson, a qualified lawyer who held various government positions between 1995 and 2001, will help the firm capitalize on an expected increase in trade between the two countries thanks to a new free-trade agreement. He has lived and worked in Japan as a solo practitioner since 2011.
