Jones Day has hired a former antitrust official from China’s National Development and Reform Commission to work in Beijing.

Xue Qiang joins the firm’s antitrust and competition law practice as of counsel. He was most recently a deputy director in the Price Supervision and Antimonopoly Bureau of the NDRC, one of the country’s three antitrust regulators. Xue was responsible for drafting antitrust-related regulations and handled investigations across the telecommunications, health care, insurance, banking and ecommerce sectors.
