The Hong Kong-based leader of Linklaters’ U.S. law practice in Asia is leaving to join Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

David Ludwick is expected to join the firm in the coming weeks although a starting date has yet to be decided. He advises on the U.S. law aspects of equity and debt capital markets deals in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Last July, he represented the underwriters on a $1.4 billion euro-denominated sovereign bond offer in Singapore and Frankfurt by the Indonesian government. In April 2014, he advised the underwriters of state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corp.’s $4 billion notes offer in Hong Kong, as well as Singapore’s Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. Ltd. on a $1 billion bond issue.
