Morrison & Foerster is advising state-owned train maker China CNR Corp. Ltd. on an upcoming Hong Kong initial public offering that could raise up to $1.5 billion.

The IPO, scheduled for May 22, is being viewed as a potential test of market sentiment following the withdrawal of a planned $5.3 billion listing by Chinese meat processor WH Group Ltd.
