U.K. M&A lawyers are preparing for an unusually quiet Christmas period as they reach a pause in an unprecedented 18 months of heightened transactional activity levels since the start of the pandemic.

Several London corporate lawyers at large international firms say they have set unofficial cut-off dates for deals to be done before they are pushed back to the New Year, marking a clear change to previous years when they worked long hours through late December.
