Macfarlanes has become the latest firm to break through the £100,000 base salary barrier for newly-qualified (NQ) associates in the U.K., boosting pay for its most junior lawyers for the second time this year amid an ongoing pay war.
The new salary, which marks an increase from the £90,000 base salary figure the firm announced in July of this year, will take effect from January 1 2022, the firm announced on Wednesday. NQs will also be eligible for additional bonuses on top of the base salary.
