Slaughter and May has upped its trainee pay for the second time in 2021, as the legal industry continues to raise rates among its junior ranks.

First year trainee salaries now stand at £50,000, while second year trainees will receive £55,000, a spokesperson said on Friday, an increase of £3,000 for both ranks. The firm last increased trainee and newly-qualifed (NQ) rates in March.
