The number of legal tech patents filed globally with the World Intellectual Property Organisation reached a record high of 1369 in 2019, according to new research by Thomson Reuters. 

Legal tech patents filed in 2019 grew by 34% for the year, and have risen by two-thirds since 2017, the research found, in a further sign of the industry’s growing reliance on new technology to bring about change.
