Global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Ampol on the $1 billion sale of a stake in its convenience store sites as the Australian oil company is hit with a lawsuit by U.S. oil giant Chevron alleging breaches of a trademark agreement.

Chevron has filed a lawsuit in the Federal Court of Australia alleging breaches of a  trademark license agreement under which Ampol was licensed to use the “Caltex” trademark.
