Other firms have also sought to bolster their capital markets expertise in Hong Kong in recent months. Paul Hastings picked up Samuel Ng and Jason Kuo from Morrison & Foerster and Troutman Sanders, respectively, while King & Wood Mallesons recruited counsel Anthony Jacobsen from the HKEX itself. Kirkland & Ellis, for its part, recruited former Shearman & Sterling associate Wanda Woo as a partner in June.

In July, Davis Polk promoted to partner Hong Kong-based debt capital markets specialist Gerhard Radtke, an 18-year veteran with the firm. In 2017, the firm made its first partner promotion in Hong Kong since 2011 in litigation and enforcement lawyer Karen Chan.
