Lawyers are often chastised for their verbosity, a problem summed up by the following point from a tongue-in-cheek guide to legal writing: “Wherever possible, use, deploy and adhibit three words where one will do, suffice or avail.”

Thankfully, in the age of digital communications, lawyers are becoming more savvy about the need to be succinct, and, as a result, law firm briefings are now much more accessible than the impenetrable Latin-laden reports of old.
