In a reversal of the lower court, a state appeals court is allowing to go forward a breach-of-fiduciary duty claim leveled against Morrison Cohen in the Manhattan Supreme Court’s Commercial Division by a former corporate client who was advised on corporate structure and partnership.

The claim, which will now proceed past the motion-to-dismiss stage, is lodged against Morrison Cohen, a highly respected commercial litigation and corporate transactional firm in Manhattan, as well as its high-ranking partners Steven Cooperman and Danielle Lesser. According to the 100-attorney firm’s website, Cooperman is chair and co-managing partner of its corporate department; Lesser is chair of its business litigation department.
