A total of 35 attorneys had signed on to defend fossil fuel companies from the state of Delaware’s climate change-related claims as of Tuesday afternoon.
Attorneys representing Chevron Corp. and Chevron U.S.A. Inc., two of the 31 companies Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings named in a Sept. 10 complaint filed in the state’s Superior Court, filed for removal of the case to federal court Oct. 23 with a 133-page notice arguing Jennings’ requested injunction would affect oil and gas production on a global scale.
