The Delaware Superior Court declined to impose sanctions on plaintiffs counsel in a personal injury case after his client contacted a juror who alleged other jurors misbehaved during the trial.

Under Delaware's professional conduct rules, Judge Richard R. Cooch reasoned, only attorneys are barred from interviewing jurors and defense counsel. At the same time, however, the court denied a motion for a new trial based on the juror's assertion that another juror "researched something online" because no evidence was presented that the juror's alleged research was prejudicial.
