Ian McConnel was named Delaware’s chief deputy attorney general last month by Attorney General Beau Biden. He will replace Charles E. Butler, who was confirmed in December as a New Castle County Superior Court judge.

"It’s actually humbling to be named chief deputy attorney general," McConnel told the Delaware Law Weekly. "The people who have held this role in the past are luminaries in the Delaware legal community. I’m humbled that the attorney general has asked me to take on this role and I’m going to work very hard to meet its high standard. It is a tremendous opportunity that I’m very grateful to have."
