Defendants who exhibit abusive behavior toward their lawyers forfeit their right to counsel if their attorneys quit because of the mistreatment, the Delaware Supreme Court has ruled.

A three-judge panel comprised of Chief Justice Myron T. Steele and Justices Randy J. Holland and Jack B. Jacobs reached this conclusion in Kostyshyn v. State, a recent opinion.
