Not long after the three names on the short list to fill a vacancy on the federal bench in Delaware were reported, speculation began to simmer that President Obama would choose Linda L. Ammons, the dean of Widener University School of Law.

The murmurs that the choice would be Ammons have supplanted earlier speculation that Collins J. Seitz Jr., the managing partner of Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz, was the likely pick. Multiple sources in the Delaware legal community have reported hearing that the frontrunner status once accorded to Seitz has now switched to Ammons.
