As Attorney General Beau Biden’s year of deployment to Iraq drew to its end, he was scheduled to return to Delaware on Sept. 30, and was expected to resume his duties to the state shortly thereafter.

Richard S. Gebelein, Biden’s chief deputy who has served as acting attorney general in his absence, announced that he will be leaving the Department of Justice upon Biden’s return.
