The movie theater chain AMC and its shareholders aren’t done with their litigation in the Court of Chancery, after Vice Chancellor Morgan Zurn ruled Friday that a proposed settlement can’t move forward as it is, saying the releases agreed upon by the two sides are overly broad.

The decision prevents Kansas-based AMC from meeting to approve a reverse stock split, sending a Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann, Grant & Eisenhofer and Saxena White team back to the drawing board for the class of common shareholders and attorneys with Richards, Layton & Finger and Weil, Gotshal & Manges for AMC and its directors.
