The chairman of a 12-person panel tasked with identifying ways to slim state spending said law enforcement and judiciary expenditures would be up for review as the group begins its work later this week.

Fred Sears, chairman of Gov. Jack Markell’s Delaware expenditure review committee, said the committee could examine overtime and the use of state police by local departments to potentially ease burdens on law enforcement budgets.
