On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to extend condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Atlanta attorney James R. “Jim” Mills on his recent passing.

During his distinguished career of more than four decades, Mr. Mills served the public as an attorney with the U.S. Department of the Interior and as an ad hoc administrative judge for DeKalb County. He also worked as a lawyer for the Georgia Power Company and, most recently, as general counsel for Cartel Properties. Additionally, he served his country as an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
