Very dry oral arguments at the Georgia Supreme Court Monday served up more questions than answers in a convoluted dispute over who gets to keep airport bar tab taxes.
College Park sued Clayton County for $2.5 million the city claims to be owed for alcohol taxes collected at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The county argues it should get to keep the money, or at least have to pay back only a year’s worth instead of three decades. And airport businesses have joined in to say they don’t care who gets the taxes, they just object to being double-billed.
