The Georgia chapter of the National Lawyers Guild is calling on the Atlanta Police Department to dismiss and “disavow” charges of obstructing traffic against one its neutral observers who was arrested along with protesters calling for a $15 per hour minimum wage outside a McDonald’s restaurant on Ponce de Leon Avenue on Tuesday.

Attorney Amy Willis was recording the protest with her cellphone when she was arrested, along with what her lawyer said were about a dozen protesters, and jailed. A photo of her arrest shows Willis wearing a bright green cap emblazoned with the legend “National Lawyers Guild Legal Observer.” Her own video captured an officer approaching with zip ties as she identifies herself as a legal observer for the group.
