Ballard Spahr and Sutherland Asbill & Brennan were the law firms behind the deal that spelled the end of “Murder Kroger,” which is being torn down to make way for a $190 million, 12-story mixed-use office project.
D. Clay Howell of Sutherland represented local developer New City, which will build the new mixed-use project, called 725 Ponce, on the site of what is likely Atlanta’s best-known Kroger, with its own Wikipedia entry, Facebook page, T-shirts and tribute song by local band Attractive Eighties Women, dedicated to “anyone who shops at the Kroger on Ponce.”
