There’s a single vacancy on Atlanta’s federal court awaiting the next president. And if that next president is Donald Trump, Dentons attorney Randy Evans, an adviser to the Trump campaign, has a few thoughts on who might be the right fit.

In a conversation with the Daily Report, Evans listed five Georgia judges to watch. “They’re all federalists,” he noted, referring to the judges’ ties to a group that serves as a pillar of conservative legal thinking. Membership in The Federalist Society, he said, is “the reference point” that Trump used in preparing his proposed list of nominees to the U.S. Supreme Court.
