With one week until the deadline, more than 70 lawyers and judges have been nominated for two vacancies on the Georgia Supreme Court.

The state’s Judicial Nominating Commission is conducting a search to fill the new seats created by the General Assembly in 2016. In addition, the commission will soon be taking applications to replace Chief Justice Hugh Thompson, who announced in July his plans to retire in January.
