A judge has tossed out a suit seeking to reverse the firing of former Fulton County finance director and Interim County Manager Patrick J. O’Connor, who was sacked last year after a recording emerged of him criticizing county leadership.

Ruling on summary judgment, Fulton Superior Court Judge Tom Campbell said O’Connor—who served as finance director from 1996 until 2014, when he was appointed interim county manager—was an “at will” employee and that his breach of contract suit against the county had no legal basis.
