About half of the 200-plus nominees for three new seats on the Georgia Court of Appeals completed extensive applications, leaving Gov. Nathan Deal’s judicial selection advisers 110 to review.

A subcommittee of Deal’s Judicial Nominating Commission is expected to winnow the list to a smaller group for interviews in early October with the full commission, which will then present a short list to the governor.
