An annual gathering of metro Atlanta lawyers and judges will honor a minister and a mayor from Charleston, South Carolina, for their leadership after the shootings of six worshipers in a church.
The St. Thomas More Society of Atlanta announced plans for its annual Red Mass to mark the beginning of a new judicial year by praying for peace and justice at 11 a.m. on Oct. 8 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 353 Peachtree Center Ave. N.E. An awards luncheon will follow at the Capital City Club, 7 John Portman Blvd. N.W.
