A federal judge on Monday approved the settlement of a discrimination and harassment case against Savannah celebrity chef Paula Deen, but said heis holding on to the case, signaling that he may sanction one of the plaintiff's lawyers for his conduct during the litigation.

U.S. District Judge William Moore Jr. of the Southern District of Georgia retained jurisdiction over the case to "determine other matters that are unrelated to the merits" of the plaintiff's claims against Deen and her brother. Those "matters," Moore wrote, focus on the conduct of discrimination lawyer Matthew Billips of Atlanta's Billips & Benjamin and whether he should be sanctioned by the court,
