A University of Georgia student who collided with a church van while riding her bicycle in downtown Athens has reached a $750,000 settlement with the driver, according to her attorney.

"It was a terrible accident," said plaintiff's attorney H. Michael Ruppersburg, a partner with the Simon Law Firm, who worked on the case with partner Christopher Simon. The settlement, Ruppersburg said, "was a good result for a very deserving client."
