The Chicago-based firm enjoyed a second straight year of profit and revenue growth after a slump in 2010. “For 2013, we’re expecting continued expansion in our real estate, corporate and public finance transactional departments, along with increased activity in commercial contract and construction contract disputes as well as other financial services litigation,” said Atlanta managing partner Steven L. Kennedy. Workplace class action matters also will make for a busy 2013 for the firm’s labor and employment group, just as they did in 2012. Kennedy said he anticipates companies will take more steps to implement workplace procedures to prevent class action lawsuits and other forms of employment litigation. Kennedy also predicted that ongoing changes in the regulation of employee benefits will create more legal activity.
