Following a four-day trial in which he represented himself, a man sued over beating and kicking his ex-wife in front of their two small children has been ordered by a Fulton County jury to pay $580,000.

“I’m not a lawyer; this has been a fiasco,” said Constantine Dantoulis, 45, who dismissed his attorney for the civil case more than a year before trial. He has retained Garland, Samuel & Loeb partner Donald Samuel to represent him on the pending criminal charges underlying the suit.
