The State Bar of Georgia will ask the Georgia Supreme Court to approve rule changes regulating legal ads, receivership procedures and client solicitations, which the bar’s Board of Governors agreed to last weekend during the annual meeting in Savannah.

The board unanimously voted to recommend changes to tighten Rule 7.2, which allows lawyers and firms to advertise through various media, such as newspapers, television, radio and billboards. The Supreme Court must approve the new rule before it takes effect.
