DISSATISFIED HOME DEPOT shareholders, who have introduced a slew of proposals that contest CEO Robert L. Nardelli’s generous pay package and call for a new slate of directors, will find out at the company’s annual meeting Thursday if their discontent is shared by other stockholders.

The dissidents claim Nardelli’s superstar compensation can’t be justified in light of the company’s uninspiring stock performance. On May 25, 2005, the stock traded at $39.86-essentially the same as its price of $38. 59 on May 23, 2006. Stock sale volume also has been flat.
